Grade 8

Grade 8 has finished up their math unit. We will be focusing on their science until next Friday. They will be doing their unit project presentations on Wednesday next week and their end of the unit test will be on Thursday.

They should be working on their projects over the weekend.

GRADE 9

grade 9 has written their end of the unit math test and will be focusing on Science between now and next Friday.
Their scienc homework for the weekend is page 343 # 1-8 and page 350 #1,4,5,6,7,9

Their end of unit science test will be next Wednesday

Grade 9 Math

Grade 9 math test will be on Wednesday, December 7th.

We will be reviewing on Tuesday.

Grade 9 is having a quiz tomorrow (November 29th) on electricity terms

Grade 8 math

 Integers Test, Unit Two, will be Thursday, October 20th

Grade 9 Math

Grade 9 will be required to complete their chapter review page 45 for homework on the weekend. I'll be collecting and marking the review on Monday, October 3rd.

Grade 9 will be having a quiz on Monday on the surface area of composite objects. Cylinders, rectangular prisms and triangular prisms will all be on your quiz!!

Grade 8

Grade 8 has to be finished up to #6 on page 58 by Wednesday, September 28th

Grade 7 Parent Updates for Science!!

I have mailed out a parent update for how students are doing in science class. I will still mark any missed assignments, please help them complete their tasks.

Grade 8 Math

Grade 8 is having their first Unit Test on Thursday, September 29th including pages 1-59

Grade 7 has a SCIENCE quiz tomorrow, September 27th on pages 56-60!


Grade 7 also has numbers 6 and 7 on page page 35 due tomorrow for their MATH homework. Their first Chapter test in on Thursday and this homework is review for the test so please help them to get this practice work completed:)

I am asking the students everyday for their agendas and they get a ticket for the friday draw box if you sign it so please ask your child to see what we are writing in there! Grade seven has an interactions in ecosystems assignment for homework tonight and due tomorrow

All Jr. High students will be taking science and math with me this year. They will receive a copy of these two pages on their first day of school, along with their schedule and the rules and expectations.

Below you will see the breakdown of your marks this year. You will be expected to get notes from your classmates on any days that you miss. There will be an envelope on the wall with your grade and science on it. If you miss a class any handouts you have missed will be in there with your name on it. It is your responsibility to get caught up.

I will be sending students to the workroom to get caught up if you do not complete your homework or your work in class.

I will be checking your binders for notes and organization so please be sure to date and put page numbers on all work. We will also use our agendas for organization and parent contact.

I expect you to show respect to all staff and all students. Be sure to support each other and have a great yearJ

Repetition in math is very important so these assignments are very important. I will be checking your math work at the beginning of every class to see if it is completed. When you come to class the assignment from the day before will be on the board, you are expected to have it out on your desk for me to see.

If at any time in the year you need extra help with your math please come see me and we will schedule a time.
